TSC President Meets Turkish Ambassador to Strengthen Bilateral Ties
The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, reaffirmed Sudan’s commitment to enhancing and deepening relations with Turkey to serve the mutual interests of the two brotherly peoples and advance bilateral cooperation.
The statement came during a meeting at his office in Khartoum on Wednesday with the Turkish Ambassador to Sudan, Fateh Yildiz, in the presence of Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Mohi-Eddin Salim. The discussions focused on the trajectory of bilateral relations and ways to strengthen and develop cooperation across various sectors.
Ambassador Yildiz told the press that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had conveyed his congratulations to General Al-Burhan on the Sudanese government’s return to the capital. He reaffirmed Turkey’s solidarity with Sudan’s leadership and people, and its full support for the government’s efforts to restore stability and promote development.
The ambassador also noted that the meeting addressed arrangements for the Turkish embassy’s return to its Khartoum premises to resume operations, stating: “We are in Khartoum for several days to carry out technical arrangements and set a timeline for the embassy’s return. We have received strong encouragement from President Al-Burhan, and we will always stand by the Sudanese people.”
