TSC President Praises Al-Eilafoun Residents for Supporting Armed Forces in the Battle of Dignity
President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, praised the people of Al-Eilafoun for their steadfast support of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) during the Battle of Dignity.
Addressing worshippers at the mosque of Al-Sheikh Al-Khalifa Ali Barakat, successor to the spiritual leadership of Sheikh Idris Wad Al-Arbab, Al-Burhan said that external parties and circles were behind the war that erupted in the country. He commended the role of Al-Eilafoun residents in facilitating the delivery of supplies to the Armed Forces in Khartoum before the fall of Wad Madani, as well as their contribution to the resilience of the Engineers Corps base in the area until the liberation of Khartoum.
Al-Burhan also praised the significant role played by Sufi orders in promoting the tolerant teachings of Islam, noting that Sufism has consistently remained distant from extremism, fanaticism, and radicalism. He highlighted their contribution to fostering solidarity and social cohesion within society, calling for adherence to the path of the righteous predecessors, which advocates truth, compassion, and unity.
Al-Burhan said that through the determination and will of the Sudanese people, the country is capable of defeating all hostile plots, calling on Sudanese citizens to remain patient and steadfast until the nation reaches safety and stability. He pointed to the hardships and setbacks Sudan has endured since April 2023, saying that they outweigh the current challenges related to electricity and fuel shortages.
“We will complete the liberation of Sudan and move forward toward eliminating the rebels and all enemies of this proud state,” he added. Earlier, the TSC President performed Friday prayer at the mosque of Al-Sheikh Al-Khalifa Ali Barakat in Al-Eilafoun, East Nile Locality. He also offered condolences on the death of Al-Sheikh Al-Khalifa Ali Barakat, successor to the spiritual leadership of Sheikh Idris Wad Al-Arbab in Al-Eilafoun.
Al-Burhan was accompanied during the visit by the Chief of Military Intelligence, Lieutenant General Mohamed Ali Sabir.
