During Visit to Giad, Al-Gezira Wali Backs Establishment of Free Zone in Northern Al-Gezira

Giad Al GeziraAl-Gezira State Wali Al-Tahir Ibrahim Al-Khair underscored the role of the Giad Industrial Group in advancing industrial indigenization in Sudan. He praised the group's return to production after its systematic destruction and looting, referring to its suffering at the hands of the Dagalo family militia, announcing his support for the establishment of a free zone in northern Gezira.
The remarks came during the Wali’s inspection visit on Tuesday to Giad Industrial City in Al-Kamleen locality, where he met with the group's senior management in the presence of Atef Mohamed Ibrahim Abu Shouk, State Minister of Finance, Economy, and Public Service.
For his part, Engineer Al-Khair Al-Tahir, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Giad Industrial Group, announced the resumption of the group's operations and said it is ready to support the state through its ten companies by providing vehicles, agricultural machinery, medical and school furniture, and electrical cables.
Meanwhile, Al-Gezira State Minister of Finance welcomed Giad's return to production and called for closer cooperation between the state government and the group. He also announced the signing of a contract with Giad to supply 10 tractors with trailers for waste collection and transportation across the state.
