Dr. Kamil Idris calls on the UN Security Council to continue its efforts and declare the militia a terrorist organization

Prime Minister announces his intention to hold an all inclusive meeting including various political and societal forces soon

Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris called on the UN Security Council to fully fulfill its duty in halting the crimes and violations committed by the rebel militia against civilians in Kordofan and Darfur. He called on the UNSC to exert effective pressure and compel the militia to lift the siege on El Fasher, Kadugli, Dilling, Babanusa, and other besieged cities, and to work to deliver humanitarian aid to those in need. Dr. Kamil Idris called on the UN Security Council to continue its efforts to address the threat posed by the terrorist militia RSF to regional stability by declaring it a terrorist organization. He praised the Security Council's statement issued Wednesday morning rejecting the formation of any government for the militia in Sudan, affirming the country's welcome of the move.
The Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and those responsible for foreign relations to intensify diplomatic efforts and follow up on this issue, ensuring that all countries are informed of the facts that confirm what the Sudanese government has been warning about regarding the consequences of overlooking the crimes and violations of the terrorist militia and the danger this poses to stability and peace in the region. Dr. Kamel Idris pointed out the positive aspect that the UN Security Council's position, considering the formation of a parallel government a direct threat to the unity and territorial integrity of Sudan, while the Council emphasizing its commitment to Sudan's sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. He announced that the Sudanese government will develop its strategy for dealing with the Council based on this position.
