Red Sea State Wali

The Wali (Governor) of Red Sea State, Lieutenant General Mustafa Mohamed Nour, met Wednesday at his office with the Turkish Ambassador to Sudan, Fateh Yildiz, as part of ongoing efforts to follow up on and enhance bilateral relations and develop joint cooperation between the two sides. The meeting was attended by the new Director of the Turkish Cultural Center, Mr. Amrullah Sirtaj Franjiz. Wali Mustafa Mohamed Nour welcomed the return of Turkish institutions to operate in the state, affirming his full support and the provision of all necessary facilities to open a branch of the Cultural Center in Port Sudan, ensuring the swift launch of its educational and cultural activities.
For his part, Ambassador Fateh Yildiz said the meeting addressed several vital issues reflecting the growing Turkish presence in Port Sudan over the past year and a half, particularly the expansion of Turkish institutions.
The two sides reviewed the activities of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), which began operations in early 2015, and the opening of a branch of Ziraat Bank in July 2015, as well as the resumption of Turkish Airlines flights via Port Sudan in August 2015.
Discussions also focused on the resumption of activities at the Turkish “Yunus Emre” Cultural Center, which initially began operations in Khartoum on Al-Sittin (Sixty) Street in 2015.
In this context, the Director of the Cultural Center, Mr. Amrullah, noted that a new phase of cultural work in Sudan will be launched from Port Sudan, aiming to introduce the Sudanese people to Turkish culture and strengthen fraternal ties.
