Prime Minister Reviews Preparations for Grand Forum of Regional Governors and State Walis
The Prime Minister, Dr. Kamil Idris, was briefed on the outcomes and recommendations of the forum of State Government Secretaries, which was held in Khartoum in recent days. This came during his meeting on Wednesday in Khartoum with the Minister of Federal Governance and Rural Development, Eng. Mohammed Kortkaila Salih.
In a press statement, the Minister said the meeting reviewed the ongoing arrangements and preparations for convening the grand forum of Regional Governors and State Walis. He added that the meeting confirmed that the important gathering is scheduled to be held during the third week of the holy month of Ramadan.


Prime Minister Kamil Idris met Tuesday in Khartoum with the Swiss Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa, Ambassador Sylvain Astier, to discuss ongoing peace efforts and humanitarian priorities in Sudan. In a press statement following the meeting, the Swiss envoy said discussions covered the Sudanese government’s peace initiative, broader efforts to advance peace, the protection of civilians, the opening of humanitarian corridors, and prospects for inclusive Sudanese dialogue. He affirmed his country’s readiness to provide technical support to help advance peace efforts in Sudan.
A preparatory meeting of the Political Consultation Committee between the Republic of the Sudan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was held Monday in the city of Riyadh.

Prime Minister, Professor Kamil Idris, affirmed that his visits to Geneva and Munich were historic, significant, and effective. In Geneva, he met with leaders of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the World Council of Churches (WCC), the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, where Sudan’s national principles, human rights situation, war crimes and crimes against humanity were clarified. All the organizations endorsed the requests submitted by the Sudanese delegation, separately.
