Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Office of the Spokesperson and Media Directorate
Press Statement
In yet another heinous crime that is added to its long list of brutalities and atrocities , the terrorist militia committed yesterday a massacre in Omdurman, by bombarding the public transport station in the Al-Garrafa area, north of Omdurman. Executed by heavy artillery, the massacre was carried out at the rush hour when the station was congested with citizens. The initial toll of the massacre was ten dead, including children, while a large number of wounded are still receiving treatment, some of whom are seriously injured, which makes the number of victims likely to rise. In addition, existing vehicles and shops were destroyed, meaning dozens of families were deprived of their sources of income.
The new crime is an extension of the terrorist militia's evil plan to forcefully vacate the Capital of its residents, with the aim of seizing their homes and properties and turning residential areas into military barracks. This is supported by the fact that the affected area is devoid of any military targets, as it is a solely residential and commercial area.
In the mean time, rape crimes by the terrorist militia are in rise. A girl was raped by five militia members yesterday in the Al-Fatihab area, central Omdurman. On the same day, another lady, a volunteer helping those affected by the war, was raped by the members of the terrorist militia in Khartoum North. The Head of the Unit for Combating Violence against Women and Children announced this week that the number of reported rape crimes had risen to 136 in Darfur and the capital City , all of which were committed by members of the rebel militia, except for two crimes committed by looting gangs that accompanying the militia.
Furthermore, pursuing its design of targeting humanitarian and public service institutions, the terrorist militia yesterday bombed the headquarters of the Humanitarian Action Commission (HAC) in Khartoum, destroying the building and setting the vehicles, equipment and records therein blaze. HAC, as it is known, is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the provision of humanitarian aid throughout the country. The militia, meanwhile, still occupies a large number of hospitals and health centers in the capital using them as military centers.
The fact that the militia committed these heinous crimes in one day and within a limited geographical area is unequivocal evidence of the criminal, terrorist nature of this militia, which makes it imperative for the international community to deal with it on that basis.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs: The Rebel Militia continues its outrageous terrorist crimes against civilians
Press Statement
The rebel militia continues its outrageous terrorist crimes aimed at dismantling the foundations of the state in the country. Having been defeated on the battlefields, the rebel militia resorted, in the past few days, to acts of destruction and arson as part of its sinister and premeditated campaign to destroy the national capital city. A series of arsons were perpetrated by the militia targeting a number of major and key economic institutions and commercial buildings in the country, which are among the pillars of the national economy.
This heinous crime is added to the previous atrocities of the rebel militia, including ethnic cleansing and genocide in West and South Darfur, crimes of rape, kidnapping and killing of civilians, forced recruitment of children, the forced displacement of the capital’s residents and the occupation of their homes by the militia, the looting and ransacking of banks, markets, factories, steeling citizens’ property and cars, the destruction of universities, museums and cultural institution, and converting hospitals and places of worship into military barracks among other atrocities.
The level of atrocities reached by the rebel militia has never been seen before, even at the hands of the worst cross-border terrorist groups that the international community has joined forces to eradicate. While the Ministry of Foreign Affairs appeals to the international community as represented by the governments of different countries, international and regional organizations, human rights organizations, and the media to condemn these barbaric crimes and classify the rebel militia as a terrorist group, it reaffirms that the the Sudanese people and their armed forces are able and determined to defeat the conspiracy to destroy the Sudanese state, and restoring its institutions even in a better manner than they were, with the help of brothers and friends.
