Health Ministry condemns RSF militia’s bombing of Specialized Hospital for Obstetrics and Gynecology in El-Fashir
Federal Ministry of Health condemns the continued targeting by the terrorist rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militias of citizens, institutions and health personnel, pointing out that the Specialized Hospital for Obstetrics and Gynecology (Saudi) in El-Fashir was targeted for the second time, which is a violation of international norms and laws.
The terrorist rebel RSF militia targeted the (Saudi) Hospital in El-Fashir on Friday morning with heavy artillery, resulting in the martyrdom of Dr. Amna Ahmed Bakhit, the pharmacist responsible for the night shift at the hospital, and the complete destruction of the medical supplies pharmacy, revealing that the Saudi Hospital is the only one that continued to receive surgical and trauma cases after the Southern Hospital went out of service. The Federal Ministry of Health strongly condemns this behavior and prays to Almighty Allah to grant the martyrs mercy, of both civilians and the armed forces, in all parts of the country, wishing a speedy recovery for the wounded.

Press Release
The UN Security Council held an open meeting, followed by consultations, on the morning of Tuesday, June 18, to hear the periodic briefing of the Secretary-General of the United Nations on the situation in Sudan pursuant to the Council’s Resolution 2715. In his address to the meeting, the Permanent Representative of Sudan to the United Nations, Ambassador Al-Harith Idris, condemned the armed attacks by the UAE-sponsored RSF militia, illustrating that the militia is targeting civilians, villages and safe towns, jeopardizing the agricultural season, which increases the food gap and threatens vulnerable sectors.
The statement highlighted the flow of UAE’s military supplies to the Militia across Chad, Southern Libya, and other territories, stressing that the Mlitia’s attacks exacerbate atrocities against civilians, increase the number of displaced people, and hinder agricultural production. Ambassador Al-Harith clarified the Government of Sudan’s position on facilitating the entry of humanitarian aid, reiterating its commitment to international law and human rights, especially in terms of protection of civilians and allowing humanitarian workers to reach those in need, provided that humanitarian assistance enters through the agreed upon corridors. He further indicated the readiness of the Government of Sudan to enter into a ceasefire on the condition that the RSF militia commits itself to fully implement the Jeddah Declaration. Higlighting the heinous human rights violations by the RSF militia, including sexual violence. Also, the statement reviewed measures taken by the Government to protect civilians and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid. The statement further drew attention to the ongoing cooperation between the Government of Sudan and the United Nations to facilitate humanitarian work. Ambassador Al-Harith stressed the imperative of exerting pressure on countries sponsoring the Militia to stop providing it with weapons, finance, mercenaries, and other aspects of support, while lamenting the silence of international organizations on the Militia’s atrocities against civilians, He called for greater international support to address the worsening humanitarian conditions. It is worth mentioning that after the end of the meeting, the current chair of the Security Council, South Korea, circulated a letter from the Permanent Representative of Sudan to the members of the Security Council communicating additional evidence of UAE involvement in Sudan’s war which results in exacerbating atrocities committed against the Sudanese people. The letter was adopted as a document of the Security Council.

Press Statement
Pursuant to the Government of Sudan’s responsibility to address the humanitarian situation in the State of North Darfur, resulting from the RSF terrorist militia’s aggression, the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Health, the North Darfur State Ministry of Health, and the National Fund for Medical Supplies, yesterday air dropped twenty tons of life-saving medicines and medical supplies into the state.
The Acting Minister of Health reirterates the commitment of the National Fund for Medical Supplies to deliver medicines and medical supplies to all regions of the country by land, sea, and air.
Reaffirming its commitment to humanitarian international law, the operation epitomizes the humanitarian role of SAF, as an extension of its heroic fight against the barbaric assault of the terrorist RSF militia on defenseless citizens, and protecting the country’s sovereignty, unity and capabilities.
The delivery of these medical supplies to North Darfur State with the facilitation of SAF, demonstrates that there are multiple ways to provide the citizens of North Darfur State and other affected states with the necessary aid, invalidating the pretext used by some international organizations to justify their failure to do enough to alleviate human suffering, such as insisting on using certain border corridors. In addition, the implementation rate of pledges of humanitarian assistance made previously does not exceed 5%.
The Government of Sudan, therefore, appeals to the international community to provide more assistances, especially medicines and medical consumables.
It once again calls for unequivocal condemnation of the RSF’s terrorist crimes, namely its continuous shelling of hospitals, civilian facilities, residential neighborhoods, and camps for displaced people in El Fasher, as well as preventing humanitarian aid from reaching those in need.
The international community, furthermore, has to recognize the terrorist nature of the Militia and to shoulder its responsibility in confronting its ongoing atrocities against the Sudanese people.

press release
According to media reports, Mr. Mousa Faki Mohamed, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, met yesterday in Addis Ababa, in the presence of his Chief of Staff, Mohamed El-Hassan Wad El-Labbad, with a representative of the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, who describes himself as the political advisor to the rebel militia leader.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its rejection and condemnation of this meeting, which represents a dangerous precedent in the work of the African Union and a clear violation of the ethos and norms of the continental organization, and all international organizations, as groupings of sovereign states, in which there is no place for rebel movements and criminal terrorist militias.
The reception by the AU Chairperson of a representative of an insurgent militia is tantamount to granting armed opposition movements and militias a legitimacy they don't deserve, noting that there is a large number of such movements in the AU member states. This act constitutes a direct threat to the sovereignty of the Member States and the security and stability of the continent as a whole.
The government of the Sudan has conveyed to the African Union Commission on May 24, 2023 that the commander of the rebel Rapid Support Forces had lost his constitutional position after leading an insurgency against the state and requested that the Commission should not deal with him or with anyone that represents him.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is, therefore, surprised by the admanent insistence of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission on continuing to deal with a rebel militia that perpetrates the worst terrorist crimes and the most heinous atrocities against civilians, women and children.
The Embassy of the Sudan in Addis Ababa has requested a meeting with the AU Commission Chairperson to protest against this step and find out its incomprehensible and unjustified motives and reasons.
