Expected Visit of Russian Companies to Sudan
Sudan’s Minister of Energy and Oil, Dr. Mohieddin Naeem Mohamed Said, confirmed the ministry’s readiness to welcome a delegation of Russian companies planning to visit Sudan in two stages at the end of this year and the beginning of the next. The minister met with the Russian Ambassador to Sudan on Monday to discuss several investment opportunities Russia is considering in Sudan, particularly in oil, gas, and electricity sectors.
The minister emphasized that Sudan had made significant progress in oil and electricity agreements with Russia and expressed a preference for working with major countries like Russia and China through their large companies in the energy and oil sectors, especially in the currently secure areas. In turn, the Russian Ambassador stated that major companies have the capability to protect their investments and revealed that a delegation from Russian companies, led by the head of the Russian-Sudanese government committee, would visit Sudan soon. He added that Russia has the expertise to help develop Sudan’s economy in various sectors such as electricity, oil, railways, factory construction, roads, ports, and infrastructure in general.

Foreign Ministry issues statement on the change in Syria
Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued Monday a statement on the change that took place in the Syrian Arab Republic.
The statement said, "Sudan has been following with great interest the recent developments in the situation in sisterly Syria, and the political change that has resulted in the country." The statement stressed that Sudan renews its support for the right of the Syrian people to impose their will, exercise their legitimate rights, and decide on how to run their affairs. The Foreign Ministry called on the international community to respect the choice of the Syrian people, support Syria's unity and sovereignty over its lands, support it in preserving its resources and capabilities, and advance its regional and international role and resist foreign interference in its internal affairs. The statement added, "Sudan expresses its confidence that the brotherly Syrian people and its political and social forces will exert every possible effort to exploit the real opportunity provided by the political change to strengthen national unity, consolidate security, peace, stability, and establish social justice in sisterly Syria, so that it will always remain a beacon of civilization, enlightenment, and goodness."
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Sudan's appreciation for the full awareness embodied by the brotherly Syrian people of what the stage requires in terms of unity, solidarity, and transcendence of the reasons for division and dispersion, and keenness to protect the institutions of the Syrian state, which reassures that Syria will safely overcome the difficulties of transition and crossing into a new era.

TSC President meets Arab League's Secretary-General
President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, met on Monday with the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul-Gheit, accompanied by a League's high-level delegation, in the presence of Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Ali Youssef, the Ambassador of Sudan to the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Sudan Delegate to the Arab League, General Imad-Eddin Adawi.
The Secretary-General of the Arab League said, in a press statement, that the meeting with TSC President was very positive, in which the position of the Arab League was clarified in support of Sudan and its people. He added, "We are all hopeful for achieving an immediate cessation of fighting in Sudan, its reconstruction and building, and the return of the displaced and refugees to their homes," pointing out that he listened to the humanitarian dimensions of the problem, which he described as an extremely difficult problem.
The Secretary-General of the Arab League added that there was a discussion about how the Arab League can help and contribute, in coordination with the international community and the African Union, to the return of peace and stability to Sudan. He said that the activity carried out by the Arab League, the United Nations, the African Union and some influential parties aims to control the situation and help Sudan get out of this crisis. Abul-Gheit stated that his visit to Sudan will open eyes to the size of the problem and the need for more effort and action to achieve an immediate cessation of war, return peace and stability and provide the opportunity for the Sudanese people to secure their lives and return stability to their country. For his part, the Sudanese Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, General Imad-Eddin Adawi, said that the Arab League has always stood by Sudan, supporting its just causes and supporting its existing national institutions, indicating that the League's position towards Sudan represents a security fence that emphasizes the need not to interfere in Sudan's internal affairs, referring to the League's honorable positions towards Sudan, noting that it has organized a number of workshops during the past period to rebuild the industrial and agricultural sectors. Adawi expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States for his visit to Sudan at this important time, referring to the other meetings he held with TSC Member, Assistant Commander-in-Chief, Lt. Gen. Engineer Ibrahim Jabir, and with Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Culture and Information, which focused in general on the violations that the terrorist militia of Al-Dagalo has been committing against civilians and targeting state institutions and infrastructure, referring to the support that these militias find from some neighboring and regional countries, asserting that the targeting that Sudan is exposed to constitutes a threat to the security of Sudan, the neighborhood and the region in the Red Sea and the Horn of Africa.

Foreign Minister meets UN Resident Representative in Sudan
Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Ali Youssef met on Sunday with the UN Resident Representative in Sudan, Ms. Clementine Salami. The meeting discussed cooperation between the Government of Sudan and the United Nations in the humanitarian and development fields.
The Minister expressed his contentment in the level of cooperation and coordination between the Sudanese institutions working in the humanitarian field and the activities undertaken by the specialized organizations and agencies of the United Nations. For her part, the UN Resident Representative expressed her gratitude to the Minister and the Government of Sudan for the assistance extended to her and the cooperation with her to perform her duties. She expressed her great satisfaction with the facilities provided by the competent authorities to make the recent visit of the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs a success.
Ms. Salami also referred to the ongoing preparations for the visit of the UN Secretary-General's Personal Envoy, Ramtane Lamamra, to Sudan during this month to continue consultations with the Government of Sudan.
