Foreign Minister Meets Austrian Federal Minister for European and International Affairs

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ambassador Mohi-Eddin Salem met with Austria’s Federal Minister for European and International Affairs, Ms. Beate Meinl-Reisinger, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The minister provided a comprehensive briefing on developments in Sudan and ongoing efforts to achieve security and stability in the country. He also expressed hope for Austria’s support for Sudanese issues within the UN Security Council.
The meeting also discussed ways to enhance cooperation and coordination between the two countries on issues of common interest.
For her part, Austria’s Federal Minister for European and International Affairs affirmed her country’s commitment to supporting security and stability in Sudan, stressing the importance of continuing diplomatic efforts to support the Sudanese people and achieve peace throughout Sudan.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides agreed to maintain diplomatic communication and coordination during the coming period in a manner that contributes to strengthening bilateral relations and supporting issues of common interest in international forums.
