TSC President issues statement in response to Biden's Statement
President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan issued Wednesday statement in response to the statement of the US President Joe Biden. Hereunder the Sudan News Agency publishes the text of the statement of TSC President:
*Statement by His Excellency General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan Abdelrahman, Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council of Sudan, in Response to the Statement by His Excellency President Joe Biden*
We have taken note of the statement issued by the President of the United States, His Excellency Joe Biden, on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, regarding the situation in Sudan. On behalf of the Sudanese government and the Sudanese people, I welcome President Biden’s expression of concern and appreciate the support of the United States for humanitarian efforts both within Sudan and in neighboring countries. We share his profound concern over the human cost of the ongoing conflict, which has inflicted untold pain and hardship on the people of Sudan.
The Sudanese government remains resolute and fully committed to ending the suffering of our citizens. We are determined to exert our utmost efforts to swiftly and decisively bring the current conflict to an end and ensure the restoration of peace, security, and stability throughout the country. Our goal is not merely to end the violence but to do so in a manner that lays the foundation for sustainable peace—peace that addresses the root causes of instability and promotes long-term unity and reconciliation among all Sudanese.
What President Biden mentioned regarding the widespread and systematic attacks by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in El Fasher reflects only a fraction of the atrocities committed by this criminal militia in other parts of Sudan. The Sudanese Armed Forces remain steadfast in their commitment to the principles of international humanitarian law and the laws of war, including the protection of civilians. Our actions are deeply rooted in Sudan’s cultural and moral values, which emphasize the safeguarding of civilian lives and the preservation of our nation’s rich heritage. In stark contrast, the actions of the RSF militia display utter disregard for human life, civilian infrastructure, and Sudan’s ancient cultural heritage, which dates back to the Kushite and Meroitic civilizations. The international community must not only condemn these heinous crimes but also hold accountable the states that continue to support and enable the militia’s destructive behavior.
The Sudanese government remains open to all constructive efforts aimed at ending this devastating war. We stand ready to work with all international partners in pursuit of a peaceful resolution that alleviates the suffering of our people and sets Sudan on a path towards security, stability, the rule of law, and the democratic transfer of power. I look forward to deepening these discussions with U.S. officials during my upcoming participation in the high-level segment of the United Nations General Assembly next week.

TSC addresses the virtual presidential summit - the global call for the future summit
President of the Sovereignty Council, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, participated in the virtual presidential summit "The Global Call for the Future Summit", which is concerned with discussing the positions and visions of countries in preparation for the Future Summit scheduled to be held at the United Nations on September 22-23. It is the summit that aims to establish an international charter for the future, addressing the issues of sustainable development, international peace and security, science, technology and innovation.
President of the Sovereignty Council delivered Sudan's speech during that international event, which included many axes, and the following is the text of the speech:
*Speech of the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council at the Virtual Global Call for the Future Summit*
It is a source of hope that we meet today at this historic summit on global cooperation،
We in Sudan stand today on the threshold of a new phase in light of the suffering of citizens from the ravages of war imposed on them، and we believe this summit is an opportunity to revitalize the confidence on the UN system to enhance the international cooperation.
The Charter for the Future that we are seeking to formulate today shall serve as a roadmap for the countries suffering from conflicts resulting from the interference of some countries in their domestic affairs. We need a strong international charter to prevent such interference and to punish and hold accountable those who carry it out.
Firstly, we believe that the Charter should include effective mechanisms to hold accountable the countries that initiate conflicts and to take measures to protect the affected countries from these conflicts.
Secondly, we stress the importance of transitional justice and national reconciliation, as the Charter must provide a framework to support these processes while respecting the specificities of each country.
Thirdly, we need international support to build strong national institutions, and our experience in Sudan has proven that institutions are the real guarantee of security and development.
Fourthly, we must focus on youth and women and involve them in the process of rebuilding these vital sectors. They are the pillar of real change, and we need international support to educate and train them.
Fifthly, we stress the importance of regional and international cooperation to combat terrorism and organized crime, because these are challenges that know no borders, and we need a coordinated global effort to confront the rising ethnic terrorism that targets the state, its infrastructure, and health and service facilities in our country.
Sixth: We call for enhancing cooperation in the field of innovation and scientific research, especially in the fields of agriculture and renewable energy, as these are vital areas for achieving sustainable development in Sudan, which will necessarily be affected by climate change and the impact of the war of aggression on the country’s economy.

The Sudanese Ambassador to Germany, Ilham Ibrahim Mohamed Ahmed, addressed the opening session of the conference, addressing in her speech the crimes and violations committed by the rebel Rapid Support Militia in its war against the Sudanese people and their cultural heritage, referring to the acts of vandalism and looting carried out by the militia against antiquities, museums and archaeological buildings in Sudan, and the illegal sale of stolen artifacts.
The Ambassador called for supporting national efforts aimed at protecting the Sudanese cultural heritage by establishing an observatory to monitor the theft and transfer of artifacts, and coordinating efforts and international cooperation and the cooperation of governments and archaeologists to enhance mechanisms to prevent the illegal trade in antiquities. It is worth noting that the International Meroitic Studies Conference has enjoyed wide participation from scholars, researchers and those interested in Meroitic civilization from all over the world.
