TSC President witnesses signing of agreements in solar energy, mining and transmission lines fields
President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, witnessed on Wednesday in Beijing, on the sidelines of his participation in the China-Africa Forum, the signing of agreements in the fields of solar energy, mining and transmission lines. This was in the presence of the Minister of Energy and Oil, Eng. Mohi- Eddin Naeem Mohamed Saeed, Sudan's Ambassador to Beijing, Omar Siddig, and the Director General of the Defense Industries System, General Mirghani Idris.
The Chief Exective Officer (CEO) of the Energy and Mining Group, Anas Ahmed Al-Badawi, said that a number of memoranda of understanding and contracts were signed with Chinese companies, pointing out that this action came within the framework of bridging the gap in the energy field, adding that there is a trend towards clean energy and solar energy.
Engineer Al-Badawi explained that those contracts would contribute to the production of 1,500 megawatts of solar energy, in addition to pursuance to use electrical equipment that operates on solar energy to reduce electricity consumption. He said that agreements were also signed with electricity companies in China to repair transmission lines and provide the required equipment and transformers to facilitate the transfer of electricity from generation areas to consumption areas. Engineer Al-Badawi said that memoranda of understanding were also signed in the field of mining to extract precious minerals through strategic partnerships with Chinese institutions, focusing on iron ore, given that Sudan is rich in this metal. For his part, the Chairman of the China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), Wang Tongzhou explained that these agreements with Sudan enhance the principle of strategic partnership between China and Sudan, revealing that the value of these agreements amounts to $30 million, hoping that these agreements will be a good omen for the Sudanese economy, referring to the solid diplomatic relations between Beijing and Khartoum.
TSC had held fruitful and successful meetings with managers of a number of Chinese companies operating in the fields of oil, solar energy and electricity, which resulted in the signing of these agreements.

Sudan and China Sign Defense Industries Cooperation Agreement
General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, the Chairman of Sudan’s Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, attended the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between the Sudanese Defense Industries System and China’s CPMIEC defense company. The event took place in Beijing on the sidelines of the China-Africa Cooperation Summit.

International Humanitarian Law, the Four Geneva Conventions, and the UN Charter prohibit the use of any object belonging to the UN and its agencies in armed conflicts. In May 2024, elements of the Militia used the uniforms of the World Health Organization (WHO) during their military operations against civilians. The Government of Sudan, consequently, summoned the representative of the WHO for clarification, and lodged a complaint.

Foreign and Finance Ministers Participate in the Ministerial Meeting of China-Africa Cooperation Forum
As part of the preparatory meetings for the China-Africa Cooperation Forum Summit, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hassan Awad Ali, and Minister of Finance and National Economy, Dr. Gibril Ibrahim, are participating in the Ministerial Meeting of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum, which is being held today Tuesday in Beijing, in the presence of African Foreign and Finance Ministers and their Chinese counterparts. The summit meetings will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024.
The summit meeting will be followed by a forum for Chinese-African businessmen on October 6, in the presence of Chinese and African leaderships, to discuss opportunities for expanding economic cooperation between China and African countries.
The summit will be a favorable opportunity for President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) to discuss with his Chinese counterpart the bilateral relations between the two countries, and Sudan's requirements at this critical stage of its history, in addition to strengthening coordination between the two leaderships. In the same context, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will meet with his Chinese counterpart to review the relations between the two countries at their various levels and ways to strengthen them, and joint coordination between the two countries in regional and international positions and forums.
